Pictures of Design Projects

A mask that I made from my collaboration group project for my Design class.
I bought an Styrofoam block (Here's the link) and cut it in pieces with exception of bottom lip and chin; those I craved with cutting knife.
When you done cutting the piece into the shapes you want; glue all the Styrofoam pieces to the mask and wait for it to dry.
Then I colored it black with a stray can. Preferably non-toxic.
When the paint is dry, I cut up the bistro paper and glue it on the top of the Styrofoams. The teacher of the design class liked it so much that I gave it to him for his to keep.
A Dynamic Line art that I done for the design class. Dynamic designs are generally dominated by diagonals and curves, suggesting movement and imply change. When the line are connected, shape cane be formed, adding variety and complexity to the design.

Dynamic Line sketches before I settled for one above.

Close up on finished statue.

Final picture of "Relationship With Light" piece.

Here are the other final pieces that I didn't get a chance to take picture of.

The theme for both of them are "Abstract Architecture." The one on the left is a spiral staircase and the one on the right is bird-eye inspiration of Seattle.

Pictures From Architecture Series (Drawings) Part One

I apologize for the poor quality of the picture. The room that I was taking with my camera in doesn't get alot of lights and forced me to use the camera flash instead. The final pictures of my pieces with much better quality will be post soon.

Based on church in Germany. Here's the link; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wies_Church.

My theme for this piece was "Relationship With The Light." Show how easily that the light can make impression if used correctly.

Rough sketch of the statue, based on picture on the left. Picture was taken on the street corner in Vienna, Austria.

The theme of this piece is "Statue." From my perceptive, and in my humble opinion, I see that the art such as statues or anything really on the exterior of the architecture can be incorporate into the architecture since the architecture itself is actually ART. This piece was my midterm project for my drawing class. So I decided to challenged myself to use the medium that is my weakest, which is watercolor.

Watercolor is actually fun to play with and very useful tool. I think I will continue the usage of watercolor for my architecture series. Final pictures will be posted soon.

Pictures Of My Design Projects

In my design class, the teacher give us bunch of options to go with for the final project and I choose to go with linear study of hand. The model is based on the measures of my ACTUAL hand... I assure you that my hand is not quite as creepy as the picture shown

This structure, created by me, is called "Mobile" and defined as follow; "A mobile is a type of kinetic sculpture (kinetic mean "potential energy"), constructed to take advantage of the principle of equilibrium. A succinct definition of the term “mobile” in a visual art sense could be a type of kinetic sculpture in which an ensemble of balanced parts capable of motion are hung freely in space but which never come into contact with each other."

The front three objects are "freestanding" which mean can stand as alone and free movement. The ones in the back with the black rings are actual mobile.

Here are the objects that I designed.

Mobile structure is pretty fun to play with once you understand the principle of equilibrium and how to balance dozens of objects.

Pictures from my Drawings and Designs (3-D objects)

"Laocoon And His Sons"

Laocoon, a priest, warned the Trojans about the Greeks and their gift, Trojan Horse. The Gods was upset and decided to punished him, sending down two snakes to devour Laocoon and his two sons.
Unfinished drawing but I'm not going to because this one took lots of my time and I have other things to attend to.
My 50/50 (positive/negative) project. The little one on the right is a mockup, or mock-up, is a scale or full-size model of a design or device. The one on the left is the final product, with modified method.
The "Negative Space," in art, is the space around and between the subject(s) of an image.
This is my Dominate/Sub-dominate project. An project that must include a Line, Plane, and Volume while one of them must act as dominate object and other as sub-dominate. As extra credit, one of three elements must act as the base... Nailed it.
I'm pretty proud of this one; my midterm project. I called it a "Hourglass Tower." The midterm project must included everything that I learned in class at the time; which are Line, Plane, Volume, Positive/Negative Space, Proportions, Curvilinear, and the most difficult one of all - Balance.
Curvilinear mean "curved line or consist of curved lines"
There are three principals in Balance; Symmetry (equal weight balance), Asymmetry (one side weight more than other but held up fine), and Rational (Multiple supporting) . For my "Hourglass Tower," I argued it should be either Symmetry or Asymmetry depend on your perspective.
I got an A for my midterm!
Thank for viewing and there will be more pictures to come!

Viola! My first pictures and more to come!

Unfinished drawing but I felt I need to post this because I don't know if I'm ever going to finish it...

My anatomy of arm is little bit off but my teacher love this drawing for some reason.

Can you guess whom this sucker is? My class went to the Pablo Picasso (Google his images) exhibit and our teacher want us to create a self portrait, using inspiration from Picasso's work. I used his  concept of Cubism to help me create mine.

My first time with pastel chalks result. I really like working with pastel, feel like painting instead of drawing.

My teacher's instruction said "Either to create a collage in which you put one or more anatomical images in new surprising contexts. Or design a park or playground which enlarges and uses parts of anatomy as natural part of this new setting."  So I go with the heart since its the hardest working organ in our body and the mechanics to represent the heart being "machine-like," always working nonstop. I added clock later to remind us that we're all mortal and eventually the heart will stop "ticking."

The teacher had us do the outline of the skeleton within the body. Based on the model's pose.

Just one of drawing I did in my own time.
