Pictures Of My Design Projects

In my design class, the teacher give us bunch of options to go with for the final project and I choose to go with linear study of hand. The model is based on the measures of my ACTUAL hand... I assure you that my hand is not quite as creepy as the picture shown

This structure, created by me, is called "Mobile" and defined as follow; "A mobile is a type of kinetic sculpture (kinetic mean "potential energy"), constructed to take advantage of the principle of equilibrium. A succinct definition of the term “mobile” in a visual art sense could be a type of kinetic sculpture in which an ensemble of balanced parts capable of motion are hung freely in space but which never come into contact with each other."

The front three objects are "freestanding" which mean can stand as alone and free movement. The ones in the back with the black rings are actual mobile.

Here are the objects that I designed.

Mobile structure is pretty fun to play with once you understand the principle of equilibrium and how to balance dozens of objects.
