In my design class, the teacher give us bunch of options to go with for the final project and I choose to go with linear study of hand. The model is based on the measures of my ACTUAL hand... I assure you that my hand is not quite as creepy as the picture shown |

This structure, created by me, is called "Mobile" and defined as follow; "A mobile is a type of kinetic sculpture (kinetic mean "potential energy"), constructed to take advantage of the principle of equilibrium. A succinct definition of the term “mobile” in a visual art sense could be a type of kinetic sculpture in which an ensemble of balanced parts capable of motion are hung freely in space but which never come into contact with each other." |

The front three objects are "freestanding" which mean can stand as alone and free movement. The ones in the back with the black rings are actual mobile. |

Mobile structure is pretty fun to play with once you understand the principle of equilibrium and how to balance dozens of objects. |
